Little Free Library

Rachael's BookNook Little Free LibraryWelcome to our Little Free Library, opened in March, 2015!  We’ve always loved books and promoting literacy, and the little free library seemed just the way to do that in our community.  Our library is modeled after the house in the Disney Movie “UP” to help everyone remember that “Adventure Is Out There!”  A book is a magical thing that lets you travel to far-away places without ever leaving home!

Rachael's BookNook Little Free Library, Up House

We are registered with the Little Free Library organization, charter # 21798.   Stop by often for updates, stories, and pictures!

How it works:
Take A Book: If you see something you would like to read, take it. Check inside to see if there is a note from whoever gave it. You can even take more than one!
Share A Book: Return it to any Little Library or pass it on to a friend. If you can’t bear to part with it, keep it and bring back a different book to share.
Return A Book: Do your part and keep Little Libraries stocked with high-quality books- share your favorite titles. Be a friend of libraries big and small. Pay it forward!

That’s so neat you found another little free library! And how kind of you to donate books, I’m sure the other visitors loved it!

Can anyone create a little free library? Does it need to be registered? Can any and all books be put in it? I’m interested in doing this at our home and maybe even in the classroom.

Anyone can be a little free library steward! You don’t have to register it, but it is encouraged so you can be part of the official community.

  3. Dawn Cain says:

We have two right in my neighborhood and I pass another in my daily travels. These are catching on in Baltimore. Something for which I am hugely grateful.

That’s so great! A few more are showing up here in Utah but they are still pretty few and far between.

  4. How did you make your little library so cute! Do you have DIY instructions? This is so adorable!

  5. Katie Williams Wiliams says:

Did you have someone hand make your little free library?
