Primary 7 Lesson 9: Jesus Christ Calls His Apostles

This week’s LDS primary lesson is on the New Testament story of Jesus Christ calling his Apostles.  The purpose of the lesson is to help each child have greater love and respect for the Apostles Jesus Christ calls to be his special witnesses.  I made 2 different printables to go with this lesson.  The first one is the main handout I do every week to help the children better remember the main point of the lesson.  It has a nautical feel to go with the “fishers of men” idea.  If you’re not already doing [addlink url=”http://www.rachaelsbooknook.net/using-journals-enhance-primary-lesson/” text=”Primary Journals”] with your class, I highly recommend starting, they are a fantastic way to help enrich your lessons and help the children stay engaged!  To download this handout please click HERE

Primary 7 Lesson 9 Handout flyerFor enrichment activity #1 I put together these pictures of the Apostles with their names.  There are some fantastic resources out there with pictures of the apostles and extra information about them,  I made this download so if you want something very simple- just the pictures and names- you’ve got it 🙂  Plus, it’s a little nicer on my printer and ink supply! I plan on cutting out the pictures of the Apostles and the little boxes with their names on them separately, then having the children match them up appropriately.  We’ll also talk about their order and who is in the First Presidency.  You could also leave the names attached at the bottom of the pictures and fold the names under so only the pictures is visible and have the children guess that way.  Let me know what works best for you or if you have other ideas! To download the Apostle Match Game please click on these 2 links (both are necessary to have all the pictures) : Apostle Match 1 Apostle Match 2
