Primary 7 Lesson 10: The Sermon on the Mount, Beatitudes

This LDS Primary lesson is on the Sermon on the Mount found in the New Testament.  What a beautiful sermon Christ gives to the masses!  The purpose of the lesson is to help the children strive to become more like Jesus by following his teachings in the Sermon on the Mount.  I made a few handouts to print to go with this lesson.  The first is a main lesson handout from Matthew 5:16, these handouts work wonderfully if you are using [addlink url=”http://www.rachaelsbooknook.net/?s=primary+journal” text=”journals to enhance Primary.”] To download your handout please click HERE

Primary 7 lesson 10 Handout flyerPart of the lesson focuses on the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5:3-11.  I made a main handout with all the Beatitudes listed as well as a matching game.  These correlate with enrichment activities 1 and 6.  For the matching game, mix up the cards and place them face down in rows on a table or the floor. Have class members come up one at a time and try to find a match by turning over two cards. (The children can use their scriptures to help them.) If the cards match, the matched cards are left face up. If the cards do not match, they are turned face down again.

The match game will download as a .zip folder, before you can print right click on that folder and click on “extract all”  A new folder will then form with the full version of the images for you to print from.  To download the handout with the full Beatitudes click HERE.  To download the Beatitudes matching game please click HERE

I think your handouts are darling, but I have a problem printing them. when I download it, it automatically goes to my HP photo print, and it thinks it has to print out on photo paper. How can I download your stuff as a PDF file, or on word?

  27. I love having your handouts and ideas. They are always so much fun and I love being able to give my kids stuff to do in class. Could I ask for some black and white stuff also? I don’t have a lot of money to spend on the 12 kids in my class and would love to just print things in black and white.
You’re the greatest to share your ideas with all of us.

    • rachaelsbooknook@gmail.com says:

Thanks, Jamee, I’m so glad you like the handouts! I know printing in color can be expensive, especially if you have 12 kids in your class! Most of the handouts look great even when printed in black and white, just change the settings on your printer. I’ll look into maybe doing some black and white designs… I just love color so much 🙂
