Primary 6 Lesson 21 10 Commandments Foldable

  1. Norma Kassaw says:

I am very, very new to pinterest and I belong to no social networking sites, so I apologize for any lame questons or comments.
I was asked to substitute teach a primary class and I needed help. I haven’t taught primary in over 30 years. I’m more comfortable with Gospel Doctrine or Relief Society classes.
I am a senior, recent widow, who is looking to discover who I am after a wonderful life of wife, mother, grandmother, veteran, retired police officer and now alone relying on my LDS faith and callings to sustain me.
You have a wonderful site and are very talented and inspiring. I hope to learn new things.

  2. I like the foldable 10 commandments. This is a great thing for my 2nd grade communion students. Looking for more great ideas that I can use in religion class which I teach.

  3. Karla Zedan says:

  5. Heather Hiler says:

I am teaching CCD for 1st graders and would love to use the Ten Commandments Foldable you have. Do you have instructions for how to fold and use it? Love the ideas!

    • rachaelsbooknook says:

Hi Heather! I’m glad you like the foldable! I’ve gotten a couple requests recently asking how to fold them, I’ve updated the post to include a video (not mine) that has easy step by step instructions, hope this helps.

  6. Wendy Campos says:

Heather, this is a really great craft to help the little ones remember the Commandments. Thank you!

    • says:

Glad you like the handout, Wendy! The kids in my class loved making these and it really did help them remember the Commandments better. Good luck!

  7. amie butchko says:

Thanks so much for this foldable. But how do you incorporate it into a lesson? Is there a game associated with it? Do you just have them fold it and explore?

    • says:

You’re welcome, Amie! I just used the foldable as a fun activity at the end of the lesson and let them explore with it and take it home to further become familiar with the 10 commandments.

  8. Jan Parker says:

Hi Rachael. I love your website and thank you for sharing your gift from God with us. It should be noted that this 10 Commamdments Foldable craft is the Protestant’s version of the commandments not the Catholic Church.
Love your prayers. Have incorporated many of them into my prayer time.

    • says:

Thank you for letting me know, Jan! I originally made the handout for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and followed what I found in the King James version of the bible, I hope it works for many Christian religions!

      • Kim Lewis says:

Thanks Rachael for all your hard work. I googled “10 commandments for kids” and was looking for something authentic with the original King James Bible language and not the newer translations. Of course it led me back to Sugardoodle. The kids will love taking these home and sharing these with their families. I teach the 4 year olds in primary.

        • Kim Lewis says:

Ps. Even though they aren’t reading yet, other family members might enjoy playing this with them.

  23. This generation is not familiar with these fun paper toys. They were thrilled but their parents and grandparents loved seeing these and exclaimed “I️ forgot about these!” What a great way to end our lesson on the Ten Commandments. I️ pre folded these and then flattened them out for the kids to use colored pencils and then showed them how to refold. Thank you!
